Monty L. Kehl is a senior managing director with Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC in Chicago and has more than 20 years of experience providing financial advisory services. He has assisted troubled companies and their creditors to identify and implement optimizing solutions through outof- court restructurings or chapter 11 proceedings. His industry experience includes energy, manufacturing and distribution, financial services and telecommunications. He has also assisted clients during their negotiations with lenders to restructure their balance sheets, as well as to secure startup capital for a new firm in the energy commodities sector. Previously, Mr. Kehl was an officer and manager for several Fortune 500 industrial concerns and was responsible for banking relationships, treasury management, debt compliance, and financial and strategic planning, as well as operations management. A Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, he holds certification in Distressed Business Valuation and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. In 2009, he was named a finalist by Turnarounds & Workouts in its “People to Watch: Business Professionals Making Their Mark” special report. He received his B.S. with honors in petroleum engineering from the University of Wyoming and his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
